Repair or Replace? The 12-Year Rule of Thumb
Age, repair cost and efficiency decide it. Here is the math we walk through with you in person.
Start with age: most major appliances run 10–15 years. Under 8 years, repair usually wins. Past 12, compare carefully.
Then compare cost: if a single repair is a large fraction of a comparable new unit — and the appliance has other wear — replacement often makes more sense, especially once energy savings count.
Whatever you choose, get the diagnosis first. A cheap fault on an old machine can still be worth fixing, and we will tell you honestly when it is not.
If the problem continues, go straight to its service page: Refrigerator Repair — or call (615) 583-1836.
